Welcome to Fraser Roller Hockey!
The FRHL would like to welcome you to inline hockey and to the Fraser Hockey Community! If you are here you have seen our flyer sent home with your child, or have heard about our offerings for your child to get involved in this great community and sport! Our mission is to give an experience for you and your family to show what inline hockey has to offer! We have a heart to grow both the inline skating along with inline hockey. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Is this Ice Skating or Inline Skating?
Both the Learn to Skate class as well as the Learn to Play Hockey class are inline skating programs designed to help individuals learn the basics of inline hockey, including skating!
At what age can my child begin skating and playing Inline Hockey?
Typically, children are between five and 16 years old when they enter the Learn To Play Program although some children as young as four years of age can learn how to skate in one of our programs!
How long does this program last?
We currently offer 2 sessions before our youth house league begins!
- 2025 Winter Session 1: Tuesdays, 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM on February 11th, 18th, 25th, March 4th, 11th, 18th (6 sessions)
- 2025 Winter Session 2: Tuesdays,5:30 PM to 6:30 PM on March 31st, April 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th (6 sessions)
- Our Youth house league will begin on May 3rd, 2025! LTP will no longer run until September of 2025, but will be replaced with an advanced skills and drills program to be announced at a later date.
What does the Learn to Play Hockey class include?
Our classes are designed to keep skaters enthusiastic about learning the fundamentals of inline skating from the time they begin lessons until the time they reach their goals. All players must own and wear a custom sublimated FRHL instructional jersey, which is a one time $20.00 fee. Sessions consist of basic fundamentals of skating, stickhandling, shooting, positioning, and many other core concepts of inline hockey.
What equipment do you need?
For our Learn to Play Hockey Program, you will need full equipment. For a full list of required equipment for the hockey portion, please click here. If you are planning on purchasing equipment, please do not hesitate to contact us as we do have vendors that we work with to get reduced pricing for you!
We do have a limited amount of gear to let you use! If you require this, please let us know in your registration. All equipment must be signed out on a daily basis.
What happens after Learn To Play?
Depending on their age and ability, players can move on to a team for hockey or continue in the learn to skate program to increase their skating skills!. Recommendations will be made by FRHL instructors and directors.
